Failed Back Syndrome

Have you had more than one back surgery? Are you still in as much pain as you were in before surgery, or even more years later? If you answered yes to these questions, you may be suffering from failed back syndrome. Unfortunately, a large percentage of spine surgeries do not end up in symptom relief for the patient. Subsequent surgeries often only add to the existing deconditioning, core weakness, and decreased mobility that was there to begin with, fueling the cycle of back pain. Once an individual has reached this point, they are often depressed due to their lack of mobility and persistent high pain levels. Many times they have been told there is nothing else that can be done for them medically. The best and sometimes only treatment option left is conservative treatment including things like physical therapy, massage, and acupuncture. Another secondary issue that frequently goes along with prolonged back pain is narcotic pain medication usage beyond its recommended duration. There is hope for individuals who find themselves in this situation. Recovia offers treatment to address the bio-psycho-social aspects of ongoing pain related to diagnoses like failed back syndrome. All of our practitioners are under one roof so that the patient can be addressed as a whole. We look forward to being a viable treatment option for those who may feel like they have reached a dead end.
